All citizens are granted a GBI (Guaranteed Basic Income). However, inmates are only give 50% of poverty as opposed to 85% of poverty that someone not incarcerated receives. The difference is to help cover the cost of housing, and provide for an incentive to not commit the crime again. Since GBI is tied to poverty, the inmate will receive a set amount. If he was incarcerated unjustly, he will receive an extra 1% for every day that he has been incarcerated. Therefore, being incarcerated for 100 days will be 100% of poverty in addition to the 50% they received while incarcerated. This is designed to make sure the prosecutor doesn’t use the system unjustly.
