If the appellate court heard the case, and the Defender is not satisfied with the outcome, then the Defender can appeal to the Supreme Court to hear their case. Unlike the 2 lower courts which are decided by a jury, the Supreme Court will have a panel of 7 judges that would hear both sides of the case. The judges then vote on guilt. If there are 4 judges that made a decision, then that decision will be heard, and no matter what, there is no higher court.
If the Supreme Court decided the defandant is guilty, then the only solution left is for the Defender to send a plea for me to review the case. However, I will likely not overstep the Supreme Court’s decision. There is no point in having a court system if I am going to decide guilt.
