If the defandant was found guilty, and the Defender feels there might be a case for appeal, then the Defender may process for an appeals court case. The appellate judge will decide if the case should be heard, and will only do so if they feel that the case was handled improperly. If the appeals judge can not find anything wrong, then the court case will not be heard, and the defandant will serve his sentence. The only other option is to make an appeal to me as the ruler of the nation. I can decide to pardon the defendant, but will likely not use this power often. There is no point in having a criminal court system if I am going to make all of the decision regarding guilt.
